Branford Hall was originally founded and incorporated in 1965 by Nelson Bernabucci, a Connecticut state certified business teacher dedicated to preparing individuals for successful careers. The first campus was located in Branford, CT. Over the years, Branford Hall has developed a reputation for quality and integrity in specialized career education.

Recognizing a growing demand for quality career education, Branford Hall opened a branch campus in Windsor, CT in 1996 and in Southington, CT in 1997. In 1999 Branford Hall’s fourth campus opened in the Springfield, MA area. In 2000 expansion continued into New York as Branford Hall arrived in Ronkonkoma, Long Island. Branford Hall Career Institute is part of Premier Education Group. In addition to the five Branford Hall campuses, the Premier Education Group includes The Salter School with three locations in Worcester, MA, Malden, MA, and Tewksbury, MA. Also part of Premier Education Group is Seacoast Career School in Sanford, ME and Suburban Technical School in Hempstead, NY.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is widely considered a standard requirement for registered nurses (R.N.s) seeking broader professional responsibilities and career opportunities. Kaplan University's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program enables R.N.s to complete the education needed to enhance their skills to better meet the demands of patient care and qualify for new opportunities in specialized nursing and management fields. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is essential for those serving in case manager and supervisory positions, and the program is also an excellent foundation for those wishing to pursue graduate nursing studies.

 

Kaplan University's degree program offers an accredited, online R.N. to B.S.N. degree completion program that centers around health promotion, risk reduction, disease prevention, information and health care technologies, ethics, human diversity, management theory, and health care system and policies. A defining feature of the curriculum is its increased focus on leadership. The program features a capstone course, a requisite clinical course, and a professional development plan that includes career planning.

 

Disclosure
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is regionally accredited by NCA and has interim approval from the Iowa Board of Nursing. The program is scheduled for review to be considered for full approval in June 2006. This program is currently seeking national accreditation and will be reviewed by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) scheduled for November 2005.

This program is not one hundred percent online: a lab will need to be completed and students must also participate in a clinical. The lab and clinical are required and will need to be completed in the state of licensure. BSN students are subject to these and additional policies published in the Nursing Student Handbook.
